Your Game
As a Character 3D Artist, you will be responsible for designing and creating high-quality characters, creatures, and NPCs that populate Albion Online’s rich sandbox world. You’ll bring life and personality to the game by crafting visually compelling and technically optimized assets that align with the project’s art direction and gameplay needs.
This role combines artistic creativity with strong technical understanding. You’ll collaborate closely with concept artists, animators, and designers to ensure your characters not only look great but also perform seamlessly in-game.
Key responsibilities:
Create high-quality 3D characters, monsters, and NPCs from concept to final implementation
Translate concept art into optimized, visually consistent models with strong form and detail
Design and produce high-quality 3D characters, monsters, and NPCs from modelling to final in-game implementation
Work with Animators, Technical Artists, and Designers to ensure smooth gameplay and animation integration
Meet technical standards for rigging, skinning, and cross-platform performance
Maintain a consistent visual style in alignment with art direction
Iterate on assets based on feedback and maintain the character asset library
Keep up with industry tools and techniques to improve quality and workflows
Your Talent
Minimum Qualifications:
3+ years of experience as a Character Artist in game development, ideally on stylized or MMO projects
Proficiency in Autodesk Maya, including character skinning
Experience working in Unity or a similar game engine
Solid grasp of anatomy, proportions, and character design for both humanoid and creature characters
Ability to collaborate effectively in a cross-disciplinary team
Excellent communication skills (presentation, verbal and written) in English
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience creating creatures or bosses for PvE content
Familiarity with Albion Online's art style or other stylized sandbox/MMO aesthetics
Basic knowledge of rigging, and animation workflows
Passion for fantasy worlds and storytelling through character design
Proficiency with digital sculpting tools such as Blender, ZBrush, or equivalent
Understanding of real-time rendering, materials, and texture creation (e.g. Substance Painter, Photoshop)
